Overlooking the bay, a family affair with the Miami HEAT made for another incredible evening with the HEAT Charitable Foundation!
Guests arrived at the American Airlines Arena just before sunset. As vehicles were whisked away, guests entered through the newly remodeled VIP Lexus entrance before enjoying cocktail hour inside the HEAT locker room. The opportunity to mix and mingle with HEAT Players and key staff is one guests will likely never forget!
Guests moved to the beautiful Xfinity Plaza after cocktail hour, for a night of dinner and dancing. A twist on previous HEAT gala designs, this year’s color scheme swapped out red, for blush! Our design concept for dinner used a modern mix of custom wrapped acrylic royal tables, and mirror-topped round tables. Each royal table was set with a black and white marble print, with black ghost chairs. Additional accents include rose gold flatware and chargers. Our round tables consisted used shimmering silver underlays with blush “coin” overlays plus a reflective mirror topper, set against clear acrylic ghost chairs. For accents, we used hammered matte black flatware and swirled black and white charger for a smoke effect.
Because no party is complete without florals – we focused on white and blush tones of tulips, callas, anemones and more in clear glass vases to show lots of gorgeous green stems. And of course = plenty of candlelight!
Along with plenty of fun and games with the HEAT players, the guests ended the evening with an incredible performance by Mary J. Blige!

Round up some friends, snacks and cocktails because it’s time to party! We’ve got the cocktails you should be sipping poolside this summer!
Craft cocktails are here to stay, and have become a must-have for catering creatives (like us!), restaurants and noteworthy bars around the world. Store-bought mixers are a thing of the past, and as a team that loves a great cocktail, we couldn’t be happier! Fresh ingredients aren’t just for food, and there’s something to be said for mixing them with quality spirits. Not only can you taste the difference, but your overall drink experience is improved by a little extra TLC. (Bonus points for pretty garnishes – your future Instagram story thanks you!)
With sunny weather and pool parties beckoning, we have three great cocktails you should be sipping poolside this summer. Put down the rosé and keep reading!
So Berry Courvoisier:
Summer = strawberry picking season! Try it by blending Cognac, Strawberry liqueur, Triple Sec, and lime juice. Shake and strain over ice into a rocks glass, then top with a splash of club soda.
Capture the sun in a glass with this bright cocktail highlighting peaches and mangoes! Try it by blending Gin, Grand Marnier, a squeeze of lime and fresh peach and mango juices. Shake and pour into a rocks glass, then garnish with a peach slice.
The Porch Swing:
It wouldn’t be a summer cocktail roundup without sweet tea! Add a twist to the classic Arnold Palmer by blending Southern Style sweet tea, mint lemonade and your favorite bourbon. Serve over ice in a tall glass, pint glass or mason jar.
The variety of exceptional summer fruits are waiting for your next cocktail creation, and the possibilities are endless. BTW: planning a pool party? You might want to take a look at our outdoor party planning tips to host like a pro!
What, you don’t believe this is a real holiday? We promise we are not making this up even if it is Five o’clock somewhere. (ahem! HERE!)
February 22nd is indeed National Margarita Day 2011.
In anticipation of this nationally recognized holiday our staff, of many talents, shot an ad campaign for Patrón at this past weekend’s International Boat Show.

Grab Your Apple Barrel!
The weekend has arrived, and we hope that means your social calendar is full with activities to last you through your Monday morning coffee. Helping you start your weekend off right, here is a delicious cocktail to sweeten Happy Hour.
We recently worked on a Garden of Eden-esque event, (check out the BizBash Article), to create an unforgettable evening for our out of state guests. The client is a true foodie, social butterfly and mixologist extraordinaire who loves a good party. We produced her signature Temptation cocktail as the greeting drink for the party. A true play on “good and evil”, it is the perfect balance of tart and sweet. Try it, love it, and try it again….we won’t judge. 🙂
Mint Infused Simple Syrup
Stolichnaya Gala Applik (no substitutes!)
White Grape Juice
(1) Large Granny Smith Apple, Thinly Sliced for Garnish
Start with 1 Part Mint Infused Simple Syrup. Add in 3 Parts of the Stolichnaya Gala Applik Vodka and 1 Part White Grape Juice. Finish with a splash of Cointreau and Lime. Garnish the beverage with a large slice of apple. You want the apple to be thin enough to float beautifully but still soak up some of the cocktail flavor.
This perfect little package may take some work to construct but it will feel just like Christmas when you are sipping it in front of the fire or in our case the pool.
We promise our White Christmas cocktail will be the most comforting treat ever, even in 75 degree “winter” weather. 🙂
1oz white chocolate liqueur
1oz vanilla vodka
1oz rosemary simple syrup
2oz steamed milk
· Rosemary Simple Syrup : Stir together first 1 cup sugar, 1 cup water and 4 rosemary sprigs in a medium saucepan over medium-high heat. Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally, boil 1 minute or until sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat, and let stand 30 minutes. Pour liquid through a wire-mesh strainer into a cruet or airtight container, discarding rosemary sprigs. Cover and chill 4 hours. Garnish, if desired. Syrup may be stored in refrigerator up to 1 month. Makes about 1 1/2 cups.
· Chocolate Curls: Slide a vegetable peeler along the edge of a room temperature chocolate bar and add as a topping on cocktail.
· Cookie Ornament: Buy or make a batch of round cookies such as chocolate chips or the chocolate covered biscuits in the photo. Use a skewer to poke a small hole in the cookie and slip a thin ribbon through. Tie the ribbon around the mug’s handle allowing the cookie to dangle as an ornament.
Combine all liquid ingredients in a festive coffee mug. Top with whipped cream and chocolate curls and adorn with a rosemary sprig stirrer and chocolate cookie ornament.
Merry Christmas from the AJW Family!
