A Joy Wallace Presents | “The Speakeasy Club”
As guests arrived to these event they found their way into the dessert reception area through a short corridor dressed as an urban alleyway leading to the “Speakeasy”. Vintage style posters and advertisements were affixed to faux brick walls. Faux doors and custom lighting created a unique entry to this secret urban throwback. As guests entered the Speakeasy, they saw that the room was divided by a sheer drape. The AJW Design team created a custom rustic 16’ bar with a large 3d structure consisting of barrels, pipes and storage containers which resembled a spectacular faux distillery which acted as a center point for the space and a location for the main bar.
To further identify the second side of the room as the traditional “upscale” atmosphere the 1920s were known for, a spectacular gold bar was placed mirrored to its rustic counterparty where the guests could continue to enjoy libations as the band plays on. On the “rustic” side of the room, wooden barrel high top tables were accented with a simple pharmacy jar with red floral accents. Tables on the “elegant” band side were dressed in burgundy velvet, damask and time period appropriate linens with mixed chair options to create an eclectic atmosphere. A variety of unique centerpieces included cabaret lampshades with pearls, candles, crates with red flower accents and feathers to complete this vintage setting.
