Eleven Liquors Licking!

Mixology was all the rage in 2009, and we hope it will carry into 2010!  We put a playful and colorful spin on popsicles for several of our holiday parties in December, including the eleven following flavors:

To get started with some mixology of your own at home, we’re providing three recipes that are sure to spice up the dessert portion of your next party!

Pumpkin Orange Popsicle

Yields- 3qts

1 pint Egg Yolks

1 cup sugar

1 cup Orange Vodka

½ cup Triple sec

1 cup Orange Juice

3 cans Pumpkin Puree

2 cups Heavy Cream

In a mixing bowl, mix egg yolks, sugar, vodka, triple sec and orange juice. Place over a double boiler and whisk until it thickens. Remove from heat. Whisk in Pumpkin puree and heavy cream. Pour into the popsicle molds. Allow to freeze slightly. Place the popsicle sticks in the middle and allow to freeze completely. When ready to eat, place the mold over warm water and remove the popsicle from the mold.

Chocolate Martini Popsicle

Yields- 2 1/2 qt

1 pint Egg Yolks

1 ½ cup Godiva Liqueur

½ cup Vodka

1 cup Sugar

1 cup Chocolate syrup

1cup Heavy Cream

Extra syrup for garnish

In a mixing bowl, mix egg yolks, Godiva liqueur, vodka, and sugar. Place over a double boil and whisk until it thickens. Remove from the heat. Whisk in chocolate syrup and heavy cream. Pour into the popsicle molds. Pour a little of the extra chocolate syrup into each popsicle, this will set on the bottom. Freeze slightly, then place the popsicle sticks in the middle and allow to freeze completely. When ready to eat, place the mold over warm water and remove the popsicle from the mold.

Pomegranate Mojito Popsicle

Yields- 2 1/2qt

2 quarts Pomegranate Juice

1 ¼ cup Rum

½ cup Mint

½ cup Simple Syrup

Pomegranate Seeds for Garnish

Mix all the ingredients and pour into the popsicle mold. Drop 2 to 3 pomegranate seeds in each mold. Freeze slightly, then place the popsicle sticks in the middle and allow to freeze completely. When ready to eat, place the mold over warm water and remove the popsicle from the mold.

Once you get a handle on these, start getting creative in the kitchen with some combinations of your own!
