Joy has always been true to the philosophy of sharing with the less fortunate all the blessings she has received in her life. That is where I come in. As the Marketing Director for the company, I am always teased by my co-workers for being the “Free” department. Go ahead, give me a hard time, I can take it!
I don’t mind being the consummate volunteer and organizer of our charitable endeavors, because I am lucky enough to bask in the amazingly rewarding feeling after a long day volunteering. And who says you can’t have a little fun while you are doing it!?!?
One of our annual events we support is the United Way’s Cook It Up For Kids celebration at the Falls. Joy has continuously contributed to this event since its inception nine years ago. We had great fun last year with our Homemade S’Mores on a Stick, which we toasted at the station, and won the Best Decorated Table (too bad there wasn’t an award for Best Team Spirit, it would have been a sweep!)
Stay tuned this year as our Creative Director Richard Randall has pulled out all the stops for this family friendly event. Showcasing our newly acquired Kettle Corn and Executive Chef Elgin Woodman’s Homemade Popsicles wasn’t enough for him. Think Willy Wonka goes popcorn crazy, complete with working conveyor belts, tubes, gauges and faux fire!
If you are looking for something fun to take the entire family to that won’t break the bank, come visit us at the Falls this Sunday, March 14th from 7:00 pm to 9:30 pm. Experience the Joy of Giving…and have a little fun while you are at it!
