Vizcaya Museum and Gardens was completely transformed into an elegant, luxurious wedding filled with family & friends!  The A Joy Wallace team oversaw all of the meticulous details of décor and catering to make this wedding an unforgettable night.

In honor of Throwback Thursday we are featuring a spectacular wedding from last year that was held at the beautiful Fairchild Tropical Botanic Gardens.  The Fairchild Garden is one of the most unique botanical gardens in the world, filled with hidden gems and beautiful views at every corner.  It showcases vines, cycads, flowering trees, rare palms, lakes and so much more.  The bride visited these gardens often growing up, and it always held a special place in her heart.  So when it came to wedding planning, the venue was a no brainer! Fairchild Gardens was perfect for her wedding vision.  The bride is a huge vintage lover, and a Vintage Chic wedding inspiration would best showcase their style on their special day.  The bride and groom both come from well travelled families of Jewish decent, so they wanted traditional Jewish aspects in their wedding.  To amp up the “travel” factor, they had a colorful and multicultural dinner menu, and added design flair from their honeymoon destination, Thailand,  to introduce their guests to their love of cultures.

The traditional chuppah was built by the AJW Design team to with the bride’s rustic vintage inspiration in mind.
What made this structure so special was the ribbon canopy.  At the bride’s bridal shower, each guest wrote
a special handwritten message on ribbon to the bride and groom, to be used for the chuppah!

Tie the Knot with: Sabdy & Cale!

Tie the Knot with: Sabdy & Cale!

Late last year, our very own Director of Sales & Marketing, Sabdy Pacheco (now Williams!) finally tied the knot.  Sabdy and Cale, both University of Florida Grads (#GoGators), held a traditional ceremony at First United Methodist Church of Downtown Miami on a gorgeous sunny day in October.  The two, having dated for 8 years, wanted to really give their guests (traveling from all over the US and internationally) a taste of Miami.

The A Joy Wallace team oversaw all of the meticulous details to make this wedding an unforgettable night.  Sabdy’s main goal was to create a party atmosphere in a unique space to bring their circle of cultures together!  For them, there was no better space than the Temple House, a modern/clean building right in Miami Beach, which would be a perfect canvas for any design creation.  The two did not have a specific theme set in mind, just a modern look that was still “warm” and inviting.  The colors used were inspired by a swatch Sabdy found of a temple, which used turquoise, jade, marigold, silver and white.  It was the perfect fit of color fusions…and turquoise just happens to be her favorite color!

Sabdy and Cale are big on art.  The AJW Team created a beautiful faux moss wall with falling petals, which
Sabdy wanted for their event entrance but also to keep in their home.  They also framed
their sign-in “book” below and hung on the venue entrance wall for all to sign.

Tie The Knot With: Merissa & John!

Fashionable New Yorkers celebrate love in Miami.  Merissa and John celebrated their marriage at an intimate ceremony and reception at Miami’s renowned Vizcaya Museum and Gardens on Sunday, April 14th,, 2013.  The design for the wedding combined old world treasures like mixed metals and mercury glass with mismatched interior design elements. Wooden, linenless royal tables, and round guests tables with textured burlap inspired linens set the style of the dining room. The rustic, old world design was softened by sprinkling romantic floral accents throughout the event space. A nude palette of peonies, garden roses and ranauculous were used in the centerpieces. Merissa and John glowed in all the candle light while sharing new memories with their cherished friends and family as newlywed husband and wife.  A destination wedding for most but an unforgettable night for all!  A special nod to the ladies of Daughter of Design for an amazing creative collaboration…
